School Prospectus and Admissions
On behalf of St Thomas of Canterbury Church of England Primary School (The Admission Authority), please see below for the details of our proposed Admissions Arrangements for 2028/2029 in accordance with paragraph 1.45 of the School Admissions Code.
The proposed 2028/2029 Admissions Policy and Supplementary Information Form (SIF) can be viewed by clicking here.
The statutory six-week consultation period runs from Monday 2nd November 2026 to Monday 7th December 2026.
If you wish to comment on the proposed admissions arrangements, responses to the admissions proposals should be sent to the school office in writing, to admin@stthomaspri.essex.sch.uk by 7th December 2026.
All responses will be collated and passed to the Governing Body for formal discussion and final approval after the end of the consultation process before determining the final admission arrangements by 28th February 2027.
The determined Admissions Policy for 2028/2029 will be published on the school website by 15th March 2027.

General Admissions Information
The Local Authority co-ordinates the school’s applications for the normal admissions round and further information can be found at www.essex.gov.uk/admissions or emailing admissions@essex.gov.uk
Mid-Year Application Process
All mid-year applications for school places outside the normal admissions round should be made directly to the school, using the mid-year application form (also available from the School Office).
Mid-year applications (sometimes called in-year applications) are any application for a school place made to a year group, apart from September admissions to Reception. For applications into existing year groups, a place will be offered when the number of pupils in the relevant year group is below the admission number for that year group.
Please note: If a mid-year application is received during a school holiday period, we will respond as soon as possible when thhttp://wsx5customurl.come school reopens.
Whether applying for a normal admissions round or a mid-year place at St Thomas of Canterbury Church of England Primary School all parents/carers are required to complete a Supplementary Information Form (SIF) and return this directly to the school. DO NOT return the SIF to the Local Authority.
